Never Run Faster Than Your Guardian Angel Can Fly
‘NEVER RUN FASTER THAN YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL CAN FLY’ is Fryd Frydendahl’s first publication with At Last Books. The book works as a series of diaristic entrances made while Frydendahl, a longtime resident of New York City, found herself in quarantine during COVID-19 with her family in western Jutland, Denmark.
Mette Kia Krabbe Meyer, a Senior Research Fellow at the Royal Danish Library, was invited to write accommodating text pieces for Frydendahl’s photograps with images and texts feeding off of each other.

SOLHVERV is a combined visual and -audio publication created by childhood friends and acclaimed artists Fryd Frydendahl, and Lars Greve – both known for their sensuous, original, and uncompromising expression. The publication consists of photographs and video stills by Frydendahl and a vinyl record with music composed by Greve. The visuals are collages merging Frydendahls work with video stills from the collaboration with the local citizens. The music on the vinyl’s A-side is performed by local citizens and the B-side is the same musical material, but only performed by Greve on abandoned local places.

Nephews have been more than 10 years in the making and are the result of a collaboration between the artist Fryd Frydendahl and the two young boys her sister left behind upon passing. What started as a need to fill her own void has turned into a communication across geographic and emotional barriers’ while turning into a “document of time and a family story about growing up and doing it together”. In collaborating, the three of them have renegotiated a tragedy that could have very easily set them all adrift. They chose each other, instead. The images speak for themselves, and the work is overwhelmingly generous.
